Elixent to demonstrate the world’s lowest power reconfigurable technology at
the 1st International System-on-Chip conference in Newport Beach, California
Bristol, England, 8 March 2004:
Elixent has announced that it will demonstrate its patented reconfigurable
algorithm processing (RAP) technology,
D-Fabrix,
at the 1st International System-on-Chip (SoC)
conference in Newport Beach, California, on 19th and 20th April. The RAP
technology provides the world’s
lowest power reprogrammable solution for implementing
algorithm processing in SoC devices.
The demonstration will show live video being
processed on a reconfigurable platform.
The conference is organized by Savant Company Inc. and
addresses significant issues in the world of SoC, including configurable
CPUs and DSPs for SoC platform design, 90nm and post-90nm-related
technologies, SoC platform design approaches and technologies, programmable
devices, and IP and EDA tool challenges. It is targeted at engineers,
system designers, executives and students in the wireless, telematics,
digital consumer, biometrics and networking markets. For complete

“We’re always keen to demonstrate to electronic
product manufacturers the power consumption and performance advantages our
technology offers,” said Kenn Lamb, CEO of Elixent. “The conference will
provide us with an excellent opportunity to meet with the companies and
people driving the latest SoC, 90nm and EDA technologies.”
“Elixent’s reconfigurable algorithm processing
technology is of a great interest to our conference attendees who are coming
from major technology companies as well as key universities in the Southern
California area,” said Farhad Mafie, President and Chief Executive Officer
of Savant Company Inc. “For system platform designers who are evaluating
new technologies for their next design there is nothing more valuable than
seeing an actual working demonstration of a complex technology such as RAP
in Elixent’s demonstration system.”
D-Fabrix gives ASIC designers a flexible alternative
to fixed function chips. The technology uses reconfigurable arrays which
enable functionality to be added or changed post-fabrication, enabling bugs
to be fixed or even the whole chip to be customized.
About Elixent
Elixent
is the leader in reconfigurable semiconductor IP, a technology that provides
users with the ability to change the function of a chip even while in use.
D-Fabrix, the company’s patented reconfigurable algorithm processing (RAP)
technology, provides ASIC designers with a flexible alternative to fixed
function chips but without consuming the level of power normally associated
with programmable technologies.
This
combination is of particular benefit to companies producing electronic
products for imaging and communications applications in consumer and
industrial markets. The low power consumption makes D-Fabrix particularly
attractive for mobile and battery powered products. Visit http://www.elixent.com
